I didn't expect my darling zod to die so fast. One thing i'm going to miss apart from the kickass screen is the palm os graffiti2. It's a chore, writing on my ancient tungstenT but well, people adapt and I will too.

Speaking of adaptability, I'm coping well with my new post of part-time sahm. Why part-time? Well, cos I send Aisyah to my mum's place nearing the weekend to complete my assignments. It's also an excuse for me to recharge myself. I still wish my family could stay somewhere near my area than I can work fulltime and still see Aisyah everyday. But houses here ain't cheap and things happened for many reasons so I think that this is the best option for now. Besides I don't really like my previous job. :P

But being at home doesn't mean I have more time. In fact time flies at many times faster than when I was working. I don't have the luxury of time to blog. I am even regaining self control in logging into my pc except to see Elmo singing the alphabets or Baby Bop jumping to the beat of If All the Raindrops.

Going out do help a lot to keep me sane so I take her out for quick trips to ntuc to get some diapers and biscuits or just strolling around our neighbourhood, looking at passing vehicles and pigeons. I do check the occasional emails and read bits and pieces of news when she's taking her daytime naps.

Her sleeping pattern has also improved a lot. On most nights, she slept before midnite. The solution is actually simple...to make Aisyah really tired by 10pm by entertaining her, letting her explore around the house and by 11pm, she would have already golek2 on the bed. I pretend to sleep with her and it seems to calm her down and relaxes herself on the bed too, sniffing her bantal bushuk. I would love to do something on my pc after she's asleep but the problem with this is, I usually ended up snoring beside her. hah!

standstill

Monday, May 07, 2007

Everything stood at a standstill since I discovered Aisyah shivering at 3am with a very warm temperature. Her hands and feet were very cold. I woke the kanda up and we both went to the 24hrs clinic nearby.

True enough her temperature was near 40deg (I was guessing ard 39deg). The (sleepy) doctor checked Aisyah and said something about her having a throat infection and prescribed 2 types of fever medicine for her...one's for high fevers (above 38.5deg) and the other's for mild ones. We gave her some medicine and sponged her till her fever goes down a bit. Aisyah didnt want to sleep and keep saying 'cheese' for her favourite cheese dippers and even wanted to watch Barney...at 4am!

She finally slept at 7am which by then I was totally zonked out too. I woke up again at 9am when I realised she has awaken with a fever again. Her body was beginning to feel warmer by noon and we decided to bring her to Dr Kartika at Flame Tree. We were all shocked when she checked Aisyah's temperature and it showed 40.2deg on the thermometer. Dr Kartika checked for any ear infection for signs of pneumococcal or rashes on the hands and feet for any signs of the HMFD. She immediately prescribed a suppository, saying that she's afraid Aisyah might get a fit if the temperature escalates further. Aisyah was already screaming her lungs out when we took off her diapers for the doctor to put in the suppository. I only catch bits and pieces of what the doctor said because she was still screaming when it was all over and demanded to be brought outside the room. With the flu season in Singapore now, Aisyah might gotten the flu bug from someone when she went jalan2 few days ago.

Basically Aisyah's energy level and appetite dropped drastically although she's still her cheeky self and still made that effort to run around the house when the medicine's suppressed the fever. But when the effects of her medicine's worn out, she didn't even refuse (which she would object if she was in the pink of health) of being put down on the bed while hugging her bantal bushuk.

My parents came and we thought that it would be a good idea for Aisyah to be brought back to their house. I could also use a helping hand since I only slept for 2 hours the night before and the kanda wasn't feeling too well either. It was already past midnight when we reached my parent's place at Pasir Ris and Aisyah only slept after eating a few pieces of biscuits.

Her fever still didn't subside yesterday morning (lingering around 39-40deg) and Dr Kartika told us to bring her to the clinic after 24hours of taking the antibiotics to prescribe another fever medicine. We decided to bring Aisyah to her again this morning if her fever still haven't subsided by then but miraculously, the temperature dropped and her fever was gone by the time she woke up just now...Alhamdulillah! She's sleeping now in her buai; her fever's gone. I hope it's not coming back. She must have lost a couple of kgs since the fever but I'm glad that it's all over.

I hate Murphy

I got tons of work to do today. With Aisyah at her nenek's house till Friday, I actually have to move my a*s fast because I can't get much work done when shes back no matter how hard I tried. She sleeps rather late and by the time she's asleep, I would be snoring away next to her. hehe.

Back to work issues, I just had a wedding assignment yesterday and I have like 4gb of photos to be selected and edited. It's my first non-friends wedding and it's been quite a while since I covered any major events. A wedding is a MAJOR event because basically it's a once-in-a-lifetime event. And Murphy had to screw my photos yesterday...grrr. Everything was fine when I viewed the photos on the camera but when I tried transferring them via the cardreader, it stopped halfway, giving the reason that the files are corrupted and unreadable. My heart almost stopped and I tried again...and again and again. I checked and a group of images were unreadable.

I remembered my x-bos sms'ing me 2 days ago about retrieval of his photos using a data recovery software. I downloaded the PhotoRescue but it doesn't work for me. So I tried transferring directly from the camera to my pc and works. Alhamdulillah!! Those photos were important because there were the pictures of the couple's friends whom we waited just to take a couple of photos.

Now that was close. I wouldn't know what reason to give to the couple if those photos disappared. No more Kingston CF cards for me.

On a geeky note, the new ricoh GX100 is just too hard to resist. A pns with RAW capability. The viewfinder looks pretty ugly though...yucks! I love my f31fd but RAW is pretty useful and that wideangle is sweet too. Anyone wants to buy my F31fd?
