Why...

..do people press the traffic light button a number of times when all you need is just a single press? It's the same with lifts. Maybe the theory of "the more I press the button, the faster it comes" is true for them. hah!

it's just the same when ppl keep looking at the monitor on the train platform although (if it reads 4 minutes) the 4 minutes will not go any faster...

Its basically having something to do while waiting for RED to turn GREEN and as for the lifts, the more you press, yup, the more the elevator will understand that there is huge demand at that level! So they'll move up or down, faster!!! You never know ;P
